The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, made this remark when the campaign organisation of President Jonathan, led by its Director-General, Dr Dalhatu Tafida, paid him a courtesy call in his palace.
Oba Sijuwade said that he made the statement as a result of his belief that the president “is a reliable, honest and straightforward person.”

The Ooni counselled Dr. Jonathan to ensure that, “he runs a benevolent government if he eventually wins the presidential race in 2011 as there must be a stop to the practice of winner takes all.”

He equally described the Director-General of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organisation as a “detribalised Nigerian whose appointment was ordained by God.”

The monarch stated that, “God must have chosen Tafida as head of the campaign team because He wants good things for President Jonathan.”

He, therefore, prayed God to crown the efforts of the campaign team and thanked the Obas, chiefs and community leaders who were present at the reception.
